The Kolk cup is made from a process that evolved more than two thousand years ago which achieves the toughness and strength expected from porcelain. The part is then coated in a basalt grey glaze, with the final product resembling an igneous rock.
Each saucer is machined from a block of natural beech wood using a CNC milling process, achieving a precision and consistency not possible with other workshop methods.
The design is the result of an obsession to create the most simplified form possible while honouring the process and materials. Flavours are elevated to bring a sharp and bold taste, while each sip is delivered smoothly.
